We spent three days in Branson, MO for Ben's birthday. Ben chose to see the Butterfly Palace, the Dinosaur Museum, the Table Rock Lake Fish Hatchery, and the Show Boat. I was surprised. I thought he would chose the tiger magic show, Noah, and the Dixie Stampede. You never know about Ben.

Homeschooling Week 29

Map Study 1

We've finished our first Evan-Moor Geography book and have a good grasp of the seven continents and four oceans. Ben is very quick with learning new map skills and I'm re-learning some as well. We are moving forward at a steady pace with Spelling and Explode the Code Book 3. We are finishing up Level F in the Reading A-Z program and I really am grateful for Reading A-Z. It is a complete program with leveled readers, phonics, grammer, and reading comprehension all built into each lesson. Saxon math is very easy for Ben in some areas, but in the areas that he is weak Saxon is a God send for us. I'm really happy with our materials and feel more confident in my abilities now. Second grade is off to a great beginning!

First Day of Spring

We celebrated and studied about Saint Patrick this week. It was slow and sluggish getting down to work this week. Not enough break, but we are planning to be out of town the last week of March, so we march on!
